Clarification Of IFR Asia's Report

Ascott Residence Trust (Ascott Reit) refers to International Financing Review Asia's (IFR Asia) ECM Briefing report dated 23 July 2013.

The article quoted a source which said that Ascott Reit plans to raise S$200m-S$300m (US$158m-US$237m) through a preferential share offering or rights issue if it successfully implements its asset acquisition programme. The article also reported that the trust plans to raise the funds through the placement route if the acquisition is small.

We wish to clarify that Ascott Reit constantly evaluates acquisition opportunities and it will explore all funding options for acquisitions, including debt and equity fund raising. At this point, nothing is confirmed and Ascott Reit will make an announcement at an appropriate time.
